Everyone Has a Story

For this project, I was tasked with designing a community center focused on storytelling. The building is designed for inclusivity and comfort, welcoming people of all backgrounds to share their stories. A grand staircase/ramp ensures equal access, while a heavy timber structure incorporates biophilic principles. The main event space, enclosed by solid walls and skylights, provides both privacy and a connection to nature. The building features a north-facing entrance and a west-side plaza. Visitors enter a lobby with seating, ticketing, and coat check facilities before ascending a ramp in a triple-height space to reach the pre-function and event areas. The event space includes a mezzanine on the third floor, where a café offers refreshments.
