For this project, I was tasked with designing an education center in Frederick, Maryland, closely integrated with the site. The design honors the land's history, but instead of focusing on the history of the Piscataway people or the Civil War events at Monocacy Battlefield, it highlights the land itself. The building "peels" upward from the ground, allowing visitors to enter beneath it and blending seamlessly with the site, which is organized around a central node. Its organic shape and pathways pay tribute to nature's curves, emphasizing the connection between human history and the Earth.
